Le Naked Lunch
...........................................................................................................................
With Dominic in the kitchen and Amélie and Denis taking care of the rest, this passionate trio’s mission is to make your taste buds sing with little treats that go down easy. You’ll drool over the foie gras, Thai soup, and pork filet stuffed with game, all available in vacuum-sealed packages or as sit-down meals. And for the party-hopper who needs a hostess gift but hates the season’s mall madness, the restaurant sells lovely gift baskets. To top things off, private tasting and catering services are also on offer.

Prices: $3.95–$36 for prepared plates; $30–$50 for gift baskets

The Gazette, november 2006.

For those convinced their home is just too
tiny to entertain, there is another option:
rent a restaurant.
Private groups of six to 25 can take over
Le Naked Lunch's large table for the night,
bring CDs of music and treat themselves
a choice of three tasting mesnus whipped
up in the open kitchen. And, of course, the
wineflows freely.
"We get a lot of young professionals in
their 30s. Sometimes they don't want to
bother cooking," the resto-boutique's
Amélie Dion said. "In a small apartment
these days you can't easily have 12 people
and serve a six or 10 course meal. So they
can come here.
"It's like you're at home but you don't
have to do the dishes!"

Groups of six minimum. Menus from $30
to $100.

Once the sun goes down, this gourmet bou-
tique and catering centre in Verdun moon-
lights as a private restaurant for single groups. Behind the sleek, diner-style exte-
rior. there are different menu formats to
choose from. A cocktail-style evening fea-
tures creative canapés like salmon tartare
with flying-fish roe, smoked trout on man-
go and avocado salsa and shrimp flambéed
with pastis while the "grande dégusta-
tion" option, a 10-course affair served with wines to match, is more of a sit-down expe-
rience.
